The EdNET 2006 Award nominations are now closed. Thank you to all who submitted, and make sure to come back in March of 2007 to review nomination rules for EdNET 2007!
Overview
1. An organization can be nominated in ONLY one category. All nominations must
be completely received - online nomination submitted as well as all supporting
materials - by 5:00 pm EDT on June 16, 2006.
2. Nominees may be companies or organizations (including educational, government
and nonprofit institutions) that provide products or services serving the K-12
market, but may not be individuals.
3. Sponsors of the Awards program and the judges are not eligible. Scholastic,
QED and The Heller Reports are not eligible. Companies that are clients of the
sponsoring organizations, or of Scholastic, QED or The Heller Reports,
including sponsors of other EdNET activities, are eligible. Anyone,
including employees, may nominate an organization for consideration for an
award.
4. Nominees are not required to attend the EdNET 2006 conference, Sept.
17-19 at The Marriott Copley Place, or attend the EdNET 2006 Industry
Awards Banquet on Tuesday, Sept. 19, though a discounted fee will be offered to
all finalists.
5. Nominations are to be submitted online at:
http://edusystemics.net/ednet/. No hard copy nominations will be
accepted. The online nomination may be augmented by supporting materials to
assist judges in determining how well the nominee meets the criteria for the
selected award. Supporting materials may include brochures, software (CD-ROM or
web-based), print curriculum materials, artifacts from delivered services,
manuals, and like resources. Please follow these directions to send us these

materials will NOT be returned. Please include your four digit nomination
number (assigned after you have submitted your online nomination). Materials

6. Finalists will be announced in mid August and must provide a company logo, a
brief corporate description, and appoint a representative attending EdNET
to accept their award to by August 14, 2006.
Awards Category Descriptions & Criteria
EdNET Impact Award: for positive impact on education
The EdNET Impact Award will be given to the organization having made
the most significant impact on education through quality educational support
and instructional resources. The recipient of this award has:

provided a benefit to education for a significant period of time, showing
staying power.
-
effectively advocated and/or implemented quality educational practices that
have resulted in improved student learning.
-
applied educational research and/or technology to generate pedagogical change
in support of improved student learning and/or educator practice.
-
made a deep impact internationally, nationally or regionally, exhibiting
benefits to a diverse array of students.
-
moved beyond the conceptual stage and is systemically implemented with learners
and/or educators at multiple sites.
-
demonstrated a positive impact on education.
EdNET Pioneer Award: for contributing to
growth of a portion of the education market
The EdNET Pioneer Award recognizes organizations for their contribution to the
growth of the education market over the previous year. The recipient of this
award has:
-
significantly contributed to innovative product and/or program design and
implementation for the education market.

created a new niche, offering, or category within the industry by developing a
new product or service and is attracting buyers/adopters in a way that
represents a new opportunity for others in the industry.
-
changed the market size of a segment of the education industry. (Measured by
annual sales volume, number of installations, assistance in creating
legislation affecting educational resource adoption, curriculum implementation,
professional development, etc.).
-
Funded projects or initiatives that have increased the activity or attention to
the educational enterprise as being, in part, a philanthropic endeavor.
EdNET Rookie of the Year
Award: for the most promising start-up venture
The award is restricted to small or start-up ventures, existing freestanding
organizations, or "skunk works" business development groups within larger
organizations. The nominated organization should be less than two years old. In
your profile, please describe the organization’s structure. Is the company a
new venture or a new group within an existing organization? (Organizations may
apply two consecutive years in this category.)
The recipient of this award has:
-
the promise to be seen in five to ten years as a significant player in the
education industry by providing the foundation for a continuing and successful
enterprise.
-
developed a significantly new product, service or
business strategy, within the education industry, which is deemed to have
exemplary potential to grow the nominated business or nonprofit to
substantially greater revenues and/or impact on education.
Submission Rules
1.Go to
http://edusystemics.net/ednet/ and download a Nomination Form Template
for the category in which you'll be submitting your nomination.
2. Using the template, answer all of the questions
outlined. These questions are correlated to the criteria by which the
nominations will be judged.
3. Go back to
http://edusystemics.net/ednet/ and complete an online nomination,
cutting and pasting your answers from the template you've already completed.
